The Zone Diet was recommended to me by a friend. I lost 5 pounds in the first week by trying out the 7 Day Meal Plan and have steadily lost close to a pound a week since. I have lost 17 pounds in 2 and a half months. By being careful about my intake of the three blocks - carbohydrates, proteins and fats - combined with a regular exercise routine, I am only three pounds away from my 20 pound goal. The Zone principles have been so simple and effective for me. Thank you Dr. Sears.

I read Dr. Sears book about 10 years ago and decided to purchase it again to use it to lose weight. The results were outstanding, I used to weigh 135 pounds and now weigh 120 pounds. I feel incredible, lots of energy, and my skin is clear. So there go all the stories about not being able to lose weight as we get older (I’m 55)!!!!

I started the Zone Diet back in Feb ‘08 and I can't believe how much better I feel. I've lost 30 pounds. I love the great meal ideas from ZoneDiet.com. The best part is I finally know how to eat.

I am on a modified Zone Diet where I eat 6 times daily. The weight loss is a secondary health benefit for me on the Zone and I have lost 70 pounds in 2 years. I hope to still be feeling better for years to come.

I have been in the Zone, for about 1 month now. I wanted to share with you how wonderful I think this program is. I have been a personal trainer for almost 10 years and actively compete in numerous athletic activities. The Zone program has helped me to achieve a better awareness of my nutritional needs and the results I have seen are amazing! I have lost nearly 13 lbs since I have been in the Zone. I feel more mentally alert, more focused at work, have greater intensity during my training, have made significant strength gains, and just feel better over all. I started on the Zone Diet to lose weight--the first diet I'd ever been on. From the beginning, the diet was easy. More than anything it just seems like sensible eating, no deprivation, and amazingly no hunger. I started feeling better--less tired, less hungry, less prone to grab unhealthy snacks or second breakfasts. The weight loss was slower to occur, it took nearly three weeks in the Zone to see real results, but the weight loss has been steady and noticeable since then. I have more energy and I just feel happier and better about myself. A big thumbs up!

Although I only lost in total 7 or 8 pounds on the Zone, I lost two full sizes in my clothing! The weight I lost was true fat and not muscle - I have been a one-woman promoter of Dr. Sears for the last five years! Even though I'm an opera singer, I am dedicated to keeping fit and eating right. Following the Zone Diet and exercising regularly gives me more energy and stamina to accomplish the challenging task of performing on stage. In August of 2002, I discovered the Zone Diet through friends. They had struggled with a lifetime of being overweight too, and had lost a lot of weight with the Zone and KEPT IT OFF! My doctor suggested that I go on the Zone Diet as he felt it to be the most well-balanced way of eating for the human body. I went out and purchased the book, “Mastering the Zone”. I just followed the recipes for "a week in the zone" and it was amazing. I lost about 3 pounds fairly quickly and my husband, over the course of a couple of months lost about 11 pounds. I knew I had to do something. I was extremely overweight pushing 346 pounds, and I am only 5’5”. My friend told me to try the omega oils. Reading "Enter the Zone" was a revelation. Suddenly nutrition made sense. Within about a year I went from 242 pounds to 198 pounds and I gained energy and speed, which was important for me as an athlete. Also, I enjoyed the variety in my diet. I have lost 10 pounds in the last year following the Zone Diet. I know it doesn't seem like much but I have tried so hard to lose weight and it has eluded me so many times. I really think I can lose the next 20 pounds, too. One of my favorite products is the strawberry shake. I drink it all the time because it means I don't eat as much starch which always was a huge hurdle for me.

I was overweight by 15 pounds with most of my weight distributed in the mid-section — the classic apple shape. As soon as I switched to the Zone Diet with its balance of 40:30:30 low-density carbohydrates, lean protein, and monounsaturated fat, I started feeling more stable physically with an accompanying higher energy level. I felt none of the normal "diet hunger" and all my cravings disappeared. It appears I had come "into the Zone"! And as a wonderful side effect, not only did I feel no hunger, but I lost an average of 1 pound per day with an overall weight loss of 10 pounds. I was looking for a sensible weight-loss plan when I picked up the book “Enter the Zone” by Dr. Barry Sears. When I began to follow the simple plan I watched the weight come off slowly but not come back on and I knew I'd found the right plan! I was grateful for the Zone Bars because when my life got hectic I could still eat properly and stay in the Zone. I lost ten pounds that I needed to lose in my stomach and when I keep to the plan I do not gain the weight back. You know when you've found the true solution for permanent weight loss. The Zone helped me find it!

Before I stumbled across the Zone I was weighing close to two hundred pounds and I was depressed. I used to be a gymnast as a young man. I would think, "look at me now," when I looked in a mirror. The day I found 'The Zone' book, I was intrigued and as I read it the science made sense and so, I began to follow the "treatment". I began to lose weight and I was feeling way more energetic. I am forty two years old, I am very active and my weight is down to 162 lbs, 38 pounds lost on the Zone. I cycle, walk, jog, swim and I can now perform some of the more simple gymnastic skills I did twenty years ago...I literally feel like I have turned back the clock.

I have tried every single diet - my last formal diet was Weight Watchers. I lost about 35 pounds, but my skin looked so bad that people thought I looked much older than I was. Then I decided to quit. I regained the 35 pounds and 5 more. That was it! No more diets for me! Then I met a friend who was in the Zone. I asked her about it and got interested. I bought the book: “Enter the Zone”, and started to read it. I used to think that I was just going to read it to increase my collection of diets. Then, one morning I started with my first breakfast in the Zone. I just did it! I did not feel like I was on a diet! I started to feel happily satisfied! I am proud to tell you that I have lost 30 pounds and now fit into my "thinner clothes", since my hips had reduced so notoriously!!!!! I am planning to stick to my Zone for the rest of my life!!!!!

After a scare from my doctor about my weight during my annual check up I decided to try the Zone program. I went home that day and began reading the book and then found the website Zoneliving.com. I was hooked. The website made the calculations much easier to figure out and I really loved the recipes and video intro from Dr. Sears. I have lost 45 pounds and quite a few sizes. I went from a size 20 to a loose size 16 but will be a 14 very soon. I will be a Zoner for life. I'm healthier all the way around, which is the best thing of all.

I have been on the Zone diet for 7 years. I did not go on the diet to lose weight necessarily; but fairly quickly I lost 25 pounds, going from 190 to 165; from a 36-inch waist to a 32-inch waist. I primarily did the Zone to live healthier. My health is excellent now. I just turned 62 years old. My Zone is my eating lifestyle now; I seldom stray; and I do not miss anything. About 5 years ago I went on the Zone Diet, I had tried many diets and none worked. Within a few weeks I had people asking me if I was on a diet and, replied “yes”, “oh my gosh” they all said, “you look great”, well I did feel good and my hair, skin and nails where doing and looking so much better. I am spreading the word! I am a 56 year old woman, who has tried almost every diet and health food/exercise plan available.
